Former Jennies track standout Kristin Anderson finished seventh in her semifinal heat in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the U.S. Olympic Trials Monday night in Eugene, Oregon at the Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

Anderson's time of 9:59.

Nate Kaeding likes to think of himself as a down-to-Earth guy.



Easier said than done for the Coralville native/turned NFL star when one mulls over his résumé.



He was All-State and All-Conference in football at Iowa City West High, where he holds a handful of state records that still stand today. He owns five Hawkeye football records and is Iowa and the Big Ten Conference's all-time leading scorer.

Former ISU basketball player Mike Taylor was selected in the second round of the NBA draft Thursday night. The Milwaukee, Wis., native was taken by the Portland Trailblazers as the 55th overall pick. Taylor was later traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for a future second-round pick.

Wesley Johnson heads to Syracuse

Former ISU basketball star Wesley Johnson is transferring to Syracuse University, the Syracuse Post-Standard reported Wednesday.

According to the Post-Standard, Johnson visited the Syracuse campus this past weekend and liked what it had to offer.

"I really liked the school a lot," Johnson said.
