Ajay Calvin scored 21 points and pulled down 13 rebounds to lead the Drake men's basketball team to its first victory over in-state rival Iowa in 28 years.
Nick Grant added 19 points in the 75-59 win in front of a record announced crowd of 7,268 at the Knapp Center on Dec. 16
Chris Bryant and Aliou Keita were also in double figures for the Bulldogs with 13 and 10 points.
Adam Haluska drove the Hawkeyes' offense early and ended with 21 points, but Drake's defense kept him from making field goals for most of the second half.
The men's basketball team is off for the rest of the week because it is finals week at Drake University. Likewise, the Times-Delphic does not print during finals week and will resume publishing issues on Jan. 22, 2007.
